Inspired by my video on Neuralink and why Elon Musk wants to bridge the gap between humans and machines (building a “brain-machine interface), I decided to compile this list. Hope you guys find it interesting?
1. The Roomba 980
It’s a vacuum cleaner. BUT IT’S ALSO A ROBOT.
This vacuum cleaner uses AI technology to scan to (i) scan the size of a room (ii) identify obstacles and avoid them and, even, (iii) determine how often your room/home needs to be cleaned. Vacuum robots have existed since at least 2017, and by now, they’re getting good (at least according to Amazon review) and also cheaper.
Jobs Stolen: Cleaning Ladies/Services
2. Emotech’s Personal Assistant “Olly”
You know how personal assistants have a habit of getting on your nerves… It’s absolutely not their fault, spending any significant length of time with someone who isn’t you is a dangerous game.
That’s why Emotech designed Olly to use machine learning algorithms to become more like… you?! So much so, that Emotech claims that Olly is able to understand your facial expressions, voice inflections and verbal patterns.
It can use those to proactively start conversations and make pertinent suggestions!
Siri, who?

3. PathAI: Transforming Histology
PathAI makes use of machine learning algorithms to identify histological tissue samples and accurately diagnose specimens and identify the most appropriate treatment for each individual patient.
But at least histology might (finally) become a thing of the past at medical schools?
Jobs Stolen: Clinical Pathologists/Medical Doctors
4. Atomwise: Discovering New Drugs 10,000x FASTER
Atomwise makes use of algorithms that can use the data we have to improve “hit rates'“ by 10,000x and even screen 10-20 MILLION compounds a day — potentially allowing us to discover new drugs, faster.
This can prove vital for tackling the impending crisis of antibiotic resistance.
Jobs Stolen: Pharmacists (Research)
5. Motional: Self Driving Cars Are Already Here
Elon Musk may LOVE to talk about the progress Tesla is making with its self driving cars. However, there is one company that’s already miles ahead.
Since 2016, Motional has provided more than 100,000 fully autonomous car rides. The results? Not a single incident. That’s a pretty flawless track record if you ask me.
Bear in mind that Motional isn’t the only company in the space and competition is stiff in the self-driving car niche with other big players including Waymo, Cruise and Luminar.
Jobs Stolen: Uber/Lyft Drivers
6. Betterment: $10 BILLION And Growing!
Betterment is transforming investing by using AI technology to create a personalised investment profile for each client and automate trades, transactions and asset management for maximum returns.
As of last year, Betterment managed more than $10 billion of assets and served more than 250,000 customers.
Jobs Stolen: Bankers, Asset/Fund Managers
Have more ideas I didn’t mention (there are SO SO VERY MANY)?
Why don’t you share them with everyone else in the comments?
